Tamsen McMahon: A Scientific Approach for Social Media
I recently watched a webinar presented by Tamsen McMahon, Director of Digital and Strategic Initiatives at Sametz Blackstone Associates and Co-author of Brass Tack Thinking, on how to prepare your own social media campaign and I really like her own perspective on it. Tamsen believes that doing social media is not really an art form but a science because there are alot of things involved before, during and after the social media communication you prepared for your selected audience.
I think Tamsen is correct in this perspective because in order to run a successful social media campaign for any business, you have to do the proper research, measurement and analysis to reduce any errors or negative feedbacks caused by any content you send out. Social media is totally different from traditional marketing and Tamsen successfully points that out during the presentation. You have to continuously produce content that will engage your followers and monitor all discussions that relate to your brand so you can adapt your content to it or respond quickly before a crisis spreads online that will negatively affect your brand.
The link to the webinar is shown below and I also provided a link to the SlideShare version for you to download. After watching the video, do you agree or disagree with her approach?
