Location Based Social Gaming Maybe the New Playground
Online mobile gaming is the new playground and public sphere, think of it as the next level hopscotch or stickball. The popular Finnish iPhone game Shadow Cities, which recently made its debut in the U.S., uses the city of each player as a game board, allowing them to roam their neighborhood casting spells and taking over city blocks. Players can engage with others nearby by either teaming up or fighting over territory. This could be where RPG’s will be going, a more engaging role of the character but in a physical space.
