AT&T Connects With Passionate Hispanic Soccer Fans Through Corazón de Campeón
As a huge soccer fan I enjoy watching the game as both national and international teams compete while their soccer fans look on, but I believe the more passionate fans comes from Latin America and AT&T has made it their goal to better connect with Hispanic fans to the soccer matches through its leading-edge online technology and platforms. Sometimes its difficult for fans to physically travel to watch their favorite teams play but in today’s online connected society within the growing Hispanic demographic AT&T wants to deliver those fans exclusive content, access to games and more on all their screens, tablets and smartphones (The AT&T Latino Facebook Page offers more information). This also goes with both Major League Soccer (MLS)and U.S. Soccer that I hope AT&T will help grow in popularity.
AT&T is not just all about promoting their products and services, they’re also about understanding the Hispanic love for the sport of soccer and so AT&T partnered with the Mexican Soccer Federation (Federación Mexicana de Fútbol) to encourage fans to support the Mexican National Team in their venture to qualify to compete for the World Cup. AT&T wanted to create a very innovative campaign where the Mexican National Team fans can own and rally around to express their winning spirit and their team’s determination and so the Corazón de Campeon (Heart of a Champion) campaign was born.
What I like about this particular media project is that soccer can be an emotional sport for the more dedicated fans and this touches that emotion. In fact, in order to capture that soccer spirit and as part of an ongoing partnership with the FMF, AT&T will collaborate with singer-songwriters duo Jesse & Joy to create excitement and entertainment around the game of soccer and the Mexican National Team. You can check out the official song below when they played it at this year’s Hispanicize 2013 event. I think this song not only inspires Mexico but all of Latin America as well.

If you’re a big fan of the Mexican soccer team and if you to have a “Corazón de Campeon” go to the official website and follow the team’s schedule of the countries they will go up against. I believe that daily updates will also be available on the #corazoncampeon Twitter hash. As an added bonus you can enter for a chance to win a trip to watch the Mexican National Team play plus you can download a free copy of Jesse & Joy’s official Corazón de Campeon theme song on the same site!

I’m really impressed by this and appreciative. I’m glad more brands are taking an interest in “us” and not just trying to sell their product to our demographic.
Thanks Maria, I like the idea that brands need to build an emotional attachment and understand our culture, from there, lasting relationships develop.
