Artista Social Uses Social Media to Promote Latino Artists and Their Art

Ever since I took Spanish Colonial Art as an undergrad at the University of North Texas, I wanted to explore more Latino art genres that are out there as well as become more familiar with Latino artists both past and present. It has been pretty difficult for me in the past to find more information on Latino artists but thanks to social media I found a page that provides me access to a gallery of diverse Latino art without leaving my house.
It’s actually a bilingual Facebook fanpage called Artista Social and it’s the central hub for all Latino artists to upload their art, discuss the latest artworks or get critiques and feedbacks on their recent artworks, both in English and Spanish. This idea is not only innovative but it also allows Latino artists to promote their own works without having to spend money on agents, gallery showings and other forms of promotions plus it allows their fans to help spread the word about their art which easily creates more arts fans. This is a great combination of art and technology.
Below is Artista Social’s exact mission statement and if you are on Facebook please become a member and enjoy the various Latino artworks that are posted.
Mission: Artista Social, founded in 2009 and based in the United States, works to create a connection between Latin America and the world abroad in the sharing of the artistic talents of Latin American artists.
Artista Social utilizes leading social media networks including Facebook and Twitter to connect artists from Latin America with their artistic counterparts and other artists, collectors, galleries, and critics from around the globe. Our platform offers artists a resource for sharing, gathering feedback, and building connections with liked-minded individuals.
These social channels provide artists with a wealth of resources to create a following, stay connected and visible, and ultimately build their careers in the arts. Artista Social works directly with both emerging and established artists to provide the means and tools to build their interactive presence. Our free services to artists include social media and Internet marketing guidance by providing a forum to discuss and share resources, and supplying details regarding international art and literary awards, scholarships, and contests.
Our dedicated team of artists, collectors, educators, scholars, and marketing professionals know first hand the many challenges of artists in Latin America from language barriers to financial concerns. We strive to help artists build their personal artistic talents and ultimately create a permanent space for them in the worldwide art scene. Our first priority is the artist, and we dedicate much of our resources to providing custom assistance to those who request it.
The Artista Social objective is to provide a platform for a worldwide audience. To achieve this, all content on Artista Social’s website, Latin American Art Page on Facebook and Twitter feed, is published in both English and Spanish. We invite all persons from around the planet to participate in our forums and to connect with the art, artists, and passions of Latin America
